is to provide a communication tool for all that are
interested in long term oxygen therapy (LTOT). There is no
one location to gain information for the multiple segments
of LTOT. The site was developed after the 5th
Oxygen Consensus Conference as a means for the attendees
to receive information obtained at the conference. The
site continued and was the main communication method for
attendees of the 6th Oxygen Consensus
Conference. The objective remains the same today to
provide timely pertinent information for all those
interested in LTOT.
Content and value:
The site is broken into 5 segments;
- patients
- clinicians
- providers
- manufacturers
- payers
Each segment has topics of
interest to segments of LTOT. Anyone can view the contents
of each segment to gain information and insight to issues
for that area. As indicated at the 6th
Oxygen Consensus Conference, it is important for education
to be provided to each area of LTOT so a comprehensive
solution can be identified for the multiple issues facing
LTOT.
The opportunity to input and
improve: The site is
constantly changing with new information being posted and
shared weekly. The site is a work in process and needs to
have the support of all that visit the site. If there is
new information available, it should be sent to the site.
If there is mis-information that can be corrected, that
too is appreciated.
A review board
of Dr. Petty, Vlady Rozebaum and Bob McCoy was set up to
make sure that there is no bias on the site. If new
information is questioned, the review board will determine
if it is appropriate for the site.
Web master Lee Olson will monitor
the site, update as necessary and answer questions.
Sponsorship:
Financial sponsors will be recognized on the
Sponsors
web page of the website. Each
sponsor’s logo will be added and a link to the sponsor’s
web site will be active. No advertising will be on the
site to stay focused on the educational format and
neutrality for any one segment or product. Information and
educational material from a sponsor will be accepted, yet
if perceived as commercial, will need review board
approval to be added to the site. Guest editorial or
educational material from an employee of a sponsor is
encouraged, yet again, needs to be non bias.
Annual sponsorship:
call for
details.
